This week, we turned the corner of our first twelve months here at Content at Scale.
🚀 1 YEAR IN.
And what a journey it’s been!
It all began back on September 5th, 2022.
We started out strong with a $50k month – the first income milestone for the SaaS that is now Content at Scale.
It definitely helps when you’re first to the market to do something. We were able to take full advantage of the first-movers advantage – in unique ways.
And today, our team at Content at Scale has grown to over 35 full-time folks. This summer, we made four different acquisitions.
All of this has been completely self-funded with profits from the business. Zero VC funding. And, fully remote.

None of this would have been possible without our amazing team, and the culture that we’re building.
Today, I’m knee-deep into building version 3.0 with the team. It is going to change the lives of marketers and businesses that rely on driving website traffic. Some of the things we have coming are mind-blowing.
But let’s get into the story behind Content at Scale and how we’re ending our first year on a strong note.
Creating The World’s First AI-Powered
Although September 5th is our first year, it isn’t our first time to the rodeo.
In fact, my team and I proved the value and worth of Content at Scale in the marketplace by spending that entire year building out a Done-for-You content agency – the world’s FIRST AI-powered content agency.
We were clear about it in our marketing, with every client, and in the deliverables. From the first point of sale, we told SEO marketers that they were receiving AI-written content.
But, over 2022, the software I was building broke.
Over and over.
It was painful. Sometimes my team and I would spend days, nights rewriting everything. Josh, our COO, was involved in a lot of that. Sometimes, I walked away and didn’t touch the AI machine for a week. It was beyond frustrating.
But we kept going. And by September, we actually had a viable software.
“The Machine” was coming to life, and it was working. In minutes, it could create nearly humanlike content.
Our First 12-Month Sprint
The product itself was a winner. We were one of the first AI writing tools on the market to create 2,500 words of truly original, humanlike content at the click of a button… with a direct API call to Copyscape (plagiarism scanner), in-app, plus a real-time, proprietary semantic crawler we’d built from scratch. (Just to recap some of the technicalities behind our tool stack.)
Building up through affiliates was a huge piece.
Constantly making the product better for our users was another key.
On April 6th, we launched 2.0 – another game-changer, when the entire UX of the app changed completely. Unique Voice as a feature launched, and we were able to pull in massive traffic by partnering with influencer experts as unique voices featured right there in the app.
And most of all…
We just kept going.
Didn’t slow down to pat ourselves on the back.
Never once did I think we arrived.
Instead…
How can we make this better?
That’s been my thought process at every point, and it’s been a key point behind why we’ve been able to sprint forward so quickly.
